On February 3, QSR hosted our annual bonspiel fundraiser, with a new twist for 2018: Curl for Kids.
With nine teams, we spent the morning out on the ice, learning about hog lines, hacks, and how to 'hurry hard'. In total, over $4400 was raised, all of which will be re-invested into programs and organizations dedicated to helping children and youth in our local area. After a morning on the ice and a tasty lunch, we welcomed Charlie Benson from Camp Trillium; his visit was two-fold:
- President Alison presented him with a cheque for over $7300, representing funds our club raised during Operation Red Nose in 2017, and in turn,
- Charlie presented a plaque signifying $100,000 raised and donated by Quinte Sunrise to Camp Trillium. As a small club, this is a huge achievement and we are extremely proud
