Ruth Ingersoll Executive Director
Community Development Council of Quinte

Since 1989, CDC Quinte has been promoting the planning and provision of health and social services to the residents of the Quinte community, with a food security focus. They operate programs such as: The Good Baby Box, The Good Food Box, Community Gardens, The Good Food Market and Community Kitchens. The goal of the food security programs it that everyone would have access to an adequate supply of safe, affordable and nutritious food without social or economic barriers.

At CDC Quinte we believe that our research, alliances, programs and services assist us in reaching our overarching goal to be a recognizable and visible community presence that identifies urgent and emerging social issues and provides programs and services that positively impact the quality of life and health of individuals.

CDC Quinte promotes and participates in the development of a grassroots community development and social planning process. This involves all sectors using a self-help, consensus building approach to identifying and resolving important community issues.
